Provincial App Launch
MyHealthNB Launch
A 30-second launch film for a province-wide health app. Produced in four weeks and aired live at the annual State of the Province address.
This video aired live at the State of the Province address to thousands of people. Four weeks earlier, I had never made anything like it.
When the Government of New Brunswick launched MyHealthNB, a province-wide health app giving residents access to their medical records, lab results, prescriptions, immunizations and imaging reports, they needed a launch video worthy of the moment. I had never produced anything like this before. Four weeks later, it aired live at the State of the Province address.
Horizontal Video | Used Across Social Media, Paid Web and TV Ads and Displayed in Public Service Offices
The video aired live during the State of the Province address, reaching everyone in the province watching in person, on livestream, or on TV that night. For a product touching almost every resident of the province, and for a brief that had to land in front of the whole province at once, it’s one of the projects I’m most proud of.
New brief, new medium, tight timeline, multiple decision makers. The job was to make it look effortless. I think we got there.

A polished tech product launch that is modern and consumer-facing while still remaining within the government branding

Work within the brand
The typography and colour schemes both came from the overarching government identity. I worked to ensure this stood on it’s own while keeping within the brand.

02
The decisions that set the feel
I studied as many other product-launch videos as I could in the time I had. How the colours were used, how the type was paired and scaled, what footage was chosen, how each scene composition appeared, how scenes were sequenced and timed. We wanted the province to trust the launch video and the app.

Keep it moving through a moving target
We were closely coordinated across the app spec, the Department of Health, our marketing team including our deputy minister with final approval. The launch video was underway while the UI was still being built and screenshots changed week to week.

Bilingual & accessible
Everything was produced in English and French, with English displayed primarily, and all colour choices tested to WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Phase two
Shortly after launch, a second round of assets were produced to keep awareness building and inform the public of continued updates. This included a 15-second follow-up video in the same visual language as the original, alongside print and digital assets.
I love to be challenged and learn. This is one of my favourite projects I’ve ever done because of the amount I had to learn for it to succeed.
